JetBlue is proud to support our U.S. active duty military, retired military and veterans, National Guard and Reserve, and their families—and we’re pleased to offer the following military discounts and benefits for travel throughout our network. We currently serve 100+ destinations in the U.S., Latin America, Caribbean and London.

All U.S. active duty military traveling for leisure (and their dependents) enjoy 5% off base fare with our special military fare class (MIL), plus 2 free checked bags.

All U.S. active duty military traveling for leisure (and their dependents) enjoy 5% off base fare with our special military fare class (MIL), plus 2 free checked bags up to 50 lbs each. (You'll be required to show your DOD Common Access Card when checking bags.)

Traveling for duty?

JetBlue also offers a bag waiver³ for active military traveling on duty and their families. Bring up to 5 free checked bags up to 99 lbs. each, for you and dependents traveling with you on the same itinerary. You’ll be required to show travel orders and DoD Common Access Card.

How to book your military fare.

To streamline the process, we’ve partnered with Veterans Advantage and MilVetID to verify your status with a few simple steps. It’s quick, simple and secure.

  • Create a Veterans Advantage account or login.
  • Answer a few simple questions about you and your military service.
  • Choose your flight and follow the instructions to book your JetBlue flight.

  1. Veterans Advantage members will receive a 5% discount off the base fare for all JetBlue flights. To qualify, at least one Customer on the reservation must be a member in good standing of the Veterans Advantage program at time of booking. Joining Veterans Advantage requires payment of a membership fee, and compliance with certain Terms of Service. Customers may be eligible to enroll in a 30-day trial of Veterans Advantage to discover this discount and other special benefits. To book a flight with the discount, Veterans Advantage members must contact JetBlue customer support by chat or phone. Discount is not available for online bookings or any other booking method. Discount is valid on base fare for JetBlue flights only, and is not valid in connection with a JetBlue Vacations package, TrueBlue award flights, flights on partner airlines, baggage or other fees, surcharges, taxes, or any other products or services. Discount cannot be combined with other offers or discounts, is not applicable to special Military (MIL) fares, cannot be partially redeemed, has no cash value, is not redeemable for cash, and is non-transferable.   2. Immediate family members including spouses and children, as well as non-duty personnel may qualify for the MIL fare when traveling with or without an active duty military member. Immediate family members may travel on a MIL fare independently as long as they are able to present the proper identification.
  3. Active duty U.S. military members traveling on orders, and dependent family members traveling on the same reservation will receive up to 5 checked bags each at no charge. Active duty U.S. military members traveling for leisure, and dependent family members traveling on the same reservation, will receive up to 2 checked bags each at no charge. To qualify, active military members traveling on orders must show travel orders and a valid DoD Common Access Card (CAC), and members traveling for leisure must show a valid DoD CAC, at airport ticket counter to verify eligibility. Subject to weight and size limits, and exceptions for itineraries including flights marketed or operated by other airlines. Other restrictions apply.

General FAQs

If you’re active duty or retired military you may be eligible for discounts at many restaurants, businesses, and local establishments. 

This includes all five branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine corps. Often the National Guard and Reserves are also included.

Often documentation is required to prove involvement with military and other government organizations. 

To present your proof of active duty or veteran status make sure you have at least one of the following documents. 

  • Military ID card (Active and expired ID card)
  • State-issued ID that lists veteran status (i.e., a driver’s license)
  • Form DD 214 (Dept. of Defense discharge papers)

No. Most of the time the military member is required to apply for the discount for themselves and/or family.

Normally military discounts are reserved for the military member. Occasionally, depending on discount policy, immediate family members may also use it.
