Who is eligible for The Home Depot Military Discount?

Active members and veterans of the following branches of the United States military:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Marine Corps
  • Coast Guard
  • Space Force
  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
  • US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS)
  • National Guard
  • The Military Discount is also available to the current spouse of an eligible service member who is currently enrolled for The Home Depot Military Discount (includes Gold Star spouses).
Who is not eligible for The Home Depot Military Discount?

Dependents of registered service members, dishonorably discharged veterans and non-military members are not eligible to receive the Military Discount.

How much can I save with The Home Depot Military Discount?
  • The Military Discount applies 10% off the price of select in-stock purchases made by eligible participants.
  • The Home Depot Military Discount can be used for up to $400 in discounts on eligible purchases per calendar year.
How do I enroll?

To enroll, visit or open the Home Depot mobile app. Log in to your existing personal account or create a new account. Go to the Military Discount page, select “Verify Military Status” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your military verification. Once you’ve successfully completed each step, your personal account on will reflect your verified military status.

How does The Home Depot verify proof of military service?
  • The Home Depot partners with SheerID, our trusted third-party verification service, which uses private and secure data sources to confirm the accuracy of the information you provide. The verification process typically takes five minutes or less.
  • You will only need to verify your military status once when you register for an account.
  • Once your account is set up, you may access the military discount for all eligible purchases.
  • By verifying, you allow us to open the discount to all veterans every day.
What should I do if I have issues enrolling?

How do I use my Military Discount?
  • To use online, log in to your Home Depot account on, and the Military Discount will be automatically applied to eligible items during checkout.
  • To use in store, scan your Virtual ID at checkout and the discount will be applied to eligible items.
  • The Home Depot Military Discount can be used for up to $400 in discounts on eligible purchases per calendar year.
What items are excluded from The Home Depot Military Discount?

The Home Depot Military Discount cannot be applied to select items, services and fees, including, but not limited to, some commodity products (including lumber, wire, building materials), value priced merchandise, appliances, tool rental fees, labor items, gift cards and services including freight and delivery.

Are military spouses eligible to use the discount?

Yes. Spouses of eligible service members who are currently enrolled for The Home Depot Military Discount are eligible to complete military verification through SheerID (includes Gold Star spouses). Visit to complete the process.

Can a spouse and military service member share a personal account with The Home Depot and receive the Military Discount?

Eligible service members and eligible spouses must have separate personal accounts on to use the discount. Eligible spouses can register for their own personal account at

If you’re active duty or retired military you may be eligible for discounts at many restaurants, businesses, and local establishments. 

This includes all five branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine corps. Often the National Guard and Reserves are also included.

Often documentation is required to prove involvement with military and other government organizations. 

To present your proof of active duty or veteran status make sure you have at least one of the following documents. 

  • Military ID card (Active and expired ID card)
  • State-issued ID that lists veteran status (i.e., a driver’s license)
  • Form DD 214 (Dept. of Defense discharge papers)

No. Most of the time the military member is required to apply for the discount for themselves and/or family.

Normally military discounts are reserved for the military member. Occasionally, depending on discount policy, immediate family members may also use it.
